GMC Terrain

2024 GMC Terrain Dimensions

  • Starting at $30,095 MSRP
  • Wheelbase – 107.3 inches
  • Headroom (front/rear) – 40 inches / 38.5 inches
  • Legroom (front/rear) – 40.9 inches / 39.7 inches
  • Shoulder Room (front/rear) – 57.2 inches / 55.6 inches

The Terrain is the smallest SUV in the GMC lineup, but as you can see from the measurements, it still offers a very comfortable and spacious interior for five passengers. So for those who don’t need three rows of seats, the Terrain makes for an excellent way to get in and out of tight parking spaces, while still staying comfortable. It’s powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, an excellent blend of power and fuel economy.

GMC Acadia

2024 GMC Acadia Dimensions

  • Starting at $43,995 MSRP
  • Wheelbase – 120.93 inches
  • Headroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 42.6 inches / 40.03 inches / 38.23 inches
  • Legroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 44.28 inches / 41.45 inches / 32.14 inches
  • Shoulder Room (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 62 inches / 62 inches / 57.94 inches

The Acadia gives you three rows of seating without the exterior dimensions being so large as to be impractical. It strikes a balance between the Terrain and the bigger Yukon, with more space for passengers in the first and second rows of seats, as well as two smaller seats in the third row. The longer body of the Acadia also makes for a big bump up in cargo space, a major strength for the Acadia. It is powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque.

GMC Yukon

2024 GMC Yukon Dimensions

  • Starting at $58,200 MSRP
  • Headroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 42.3 inches / 38.9 inches / 38.2 inches
  • Legroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 44.5 inches / 42.0 inches / 34.9 inches
  • Shoulder Room (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 66.0 inches / 64.8 inches / 62.7 inches

The Yukon is the undisputed champion of legroom. It’s ample enough on the Yukon that the third row of seats will actually seat adults comfortably, something you won’t find in very many three-row SUVs. But whether you have adults or kids in the back, the 9 seats in the Yukon is the most you can get in a vehicle that will still fit in your garage. Because, for all that space, the Yukon is actually only six inches longer than the Acadia. The Yukon also comes with a standard V8, something else you won’t find in many other SUVs, and the same goes for the available diesel engine.

GMC Yukon XL

2024 GMC Yukon XL Dimensions

  • Starting at $61,200 MSRP
  • Headroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 42.3 inches / 38.9 inches / 38.2 inches
  • Legroom (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 44.5 inches / 42.0 inches / /36.7 inches
  • Shoulder Room (1st row/2nd row/3rd row) – 66.0 inches / 64.8 inches / 62.8 inches

As you can see, nearly all the seating dimensions for the Yukon XL are the same as those for the Yukon, with just a couple of exceptions. That’s because the Yukon XL is an elongated Yukon that is built specifically to offer expanded cargo space. That’s why the Yukon XL leads its segment, and indeed the entire industry, in cargo space. Only commercial vehicles come with more interior space, so if you need to transport 9 people and their stuff, the Yukon XL is the only way to go. It also offers the same excellent choice of engines as the standard Yukon, including two gasoline V8s and a diesel inline-6.
