About the GMC Acadia
The Acadia is GMC’s most versatile vehicle, a midsize SUV that seats 8, but will still easily fit in your garage. An SUV that can be a luxury cruiser or a rugged offroader. The Acadia is one of the biggest midsize SUVs on the market, big enough to fit adults in the third row of seats, a very rare thing in this segment. The Acadia comes with some impressive standard equipment, but if you want to really turn up the luxury, there is the Denali trim. Or if you plan on taking your Acadia offroad, you can opt for the AT4 offroad-ready trim. No matter which you go for, the Acadia comes with a powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, and all-wheel drive is available on any trim apart from the AT4, where it’s standard. And the Acadia comes packed with all of the latest in technology for your comfort and convenience.
What the Critics Say
“In the dirt, Terrain mode’s one-pedal driving and dual-clutch rear differential that shifts torque from side to side is a formidable combination. We drove through a short sand feature that forced one or two wheels off the ground, and the AT4 plowed through. The acceleration through deep sand almost felt quicker than on pavement. The tow hooks up front are true anchor points mounted to the frame.” — MotorTrend
“We like the spaciousness of the Acadia’s cabin. It’s also an environment that becomes quite luxurious in the top Denali trim, with things like leather upholstery and heated second-row seats. Some midsize SUVs have tight third-row accommodations, but the Acadia does better, with 32 inches of legroom. Cargo space is similarly generous — 23 cubic feet behind the third row, expanding to a cavernous 97.5 cubic feet with rows two and three folded.” — Kelley Blue Book
What’s New for 2025
Following a total redesign last year, the changes for 2025 are understandably mild. The Elevation trim gets a new 18-inch wheel design, and there is a new Premium package that comes with an also-new set of 20-inch wheels, as well as other features like front LED fog lights and a universal garage door opener. The Trailering Package is also now standard equipment across the whole trim lineup.
GMC GMC Acadia Features

Impressive Versatility
The GMC Acadia comes well-equipped for a wide range of tasks. This starts with the engine, a robust 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. This comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, and the combination gives the Acadia excellent get-up-and-go ability. All-wheel drive is available, but it’s standard on the AT4 trim, which includes a bunch of other equipment like all-terrain tires and a lifted ride height that significantly improves the offroad ability of the Acadia. The interior is very spacious, but if there still isn’t room for whatever you need to take with you, the Trailering Packages is standard equipment, and gives the Acadia a 5,000-pound towing capacity.

Inspired Style
Design has always been a strength for GMC, and the Acadia is an excellent example of this. The styling is modern and sophisticated, with touches like signature LED headlights, which look good while providing great visibility. For some extra style, there is the Available Black Edition, which comes with blacked-out exterior trim and a set of eye-catching 22-inch black wheels. Inside, the Acadia is spacious and well-appointed, with appealing standard equipment like power front seats, a power liftgate, a heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. To really maximize the style, not to mention the luxury, there is the Denali trim, which has a unique chrome grille and accents, as well as 20-inch wheels in Pearl Nickel.

Comfort & Technology
The advanced technology found in the Acadia gives it a very noticeable leg up on the competition. Settle into the heated (or available ventilated) driver’s seat and the first things you’ll notice are the 15-inch infotainment touchscreen and 11-inch Driver Information Center. These work with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can really make the most of the standard 12-speaker premium Bose stereo system, or the available 16-speaker version. There’s available wireless charging for your phone as well, and an available 8-inch configurable head-up display to help you keep your eyes on the road. Available on any trim is Super Cruise, a hands-free form of cruise control that lets you take a relaxed approach to road trips.
